Ensuring All Aviators Reach Their Full Potential
We must seek ways to improve academic performance for ALL AVIATORS. We are in the process of implementing our strategic plan which will guide our district with an updated mission statement, vision and values. This will include measurable growth to ensure all students can reach their full potential. Not every child can be measured by test scores. Sycamore Schools must create an environment that nourishes and fosters the entire child, including social and mental health supports. Our District has amazing teachers, educators and staff, they must be empowered to educate our children. Our community is proud of our diversity. We must continue to foster this, learn from it and expand upon it. This includes our staff and administration. We must remain a destination district for all families. Strong schools mean strong communities.

Maintaining Continued Financial Stability
Our community expects strong financial leadership. We have delivered. The Board’s Contract with the Community is to not increase expenditures beyond 2.5%. We have met this commitment for 4 years (excluding Covid expenditures). This has allowed the Board to extend the current Operating Levy. I am committed to extending this commitment.

Launching Our New & Renovated School Buildings
Thanks to our community, we overwhelmingly passed a bond levy in 2019 for 2 new schools, a new wing at Symmes Elementary and renovation at the high school. For the past 3 years, I have actively worked on this critical project. It is exciting to watch the new buildings come out of the ground. Our work is not done. We must continue to support the teachers and staff and provide them the resources and tools to utilize the new learning spaces in ways never before possible in our district. This project will allow our students to soar to new heights. Our new schools will continue to attract new families to our communities and further increase our property values.

District-Board-Community Synergy
We are One-Team. The Board must expand our partnerships with the community, teachers, administration, and staff. Trust, transparency, communication and collaboration are critical. Together, we will build upon strong foundation and reach a new potential.
